2020 Annual Meeting

Theme: 2020: Transforming Civic Engagement in a New Decade

The OCC Annual Meeting offers participants the opportunity to:
1. Network with others working to advance community and civic engagement;
2. Receive resources on best practices in community partnerships, faculty development, and student learning related to community and civic engagement; and
3. Share updates on critical state, regional, and national initiatives in higher education.


CALL FOR PROPOSALS NOW OPEN

Proposal deadline extended to Friday May 1, 5pm.
Ohio Campus Compact invites you to submit presentation proposals for the Annual Meeting hosted again this year by The Ohio State University at The Blackwell Inn & Pfahl Conference Center on Friday August 7, 2020.

We are seeking proposals that generally include:

  • Transforming the work we do with and for students
    • Responding to changes in Federal work study and resource stability
    • Designs for equity/access programming for students
    • Identifying, engaging and supporting underserved students in civic engagement
    • Mobilizing students for collective action
    • Cutting edge civic engagement program examples
    • Innovative institutional support mechanisms
  • Transforming our local communities
    • Developing effective and reciprocal partnerships
    • Models of partnership design and structures
    • Tracking community partnerships
    • Evaluating impact and telling the community engagement story
  • Transforming our approach to civic engagement
    • Utilizing faculty for institutionalization of civic and community engagement
    • Cutting edge programs and models
    • Responding to the 2020 political climate
    • Civic engagement in career preparation

Consideration preference for presenters will be given for the following proposals:

  • Presentation includes student and/or community voice, either in person or via remote/video participation
  • A focus on access, equity and diverse perspectives
  • Opportunities for interactive engagement between the presenter and participants

Sessions will take place on August 7 between 9:00am-4:30pm.

Refund policy:

*Full refunds will be given through July 3.
*Half
refunds will be giving from July 4-July 24.
*NO REFUNDS will be given after July 24.
