Ohio Campus Compact is pleased to announce the 2023 Charles J. Ping Student Service Award recipients. This annual award recognizes and honors undergraduate students for their outstanding leadership and contributions to community service or service-learning on their campus and within their community. A student is nominated by the president of their respective institution for their exemplary leadership and commitment to community and service. Each year two students are recognized as Legacy Award winners and a $250 donation is made in their name to a nonprofit organization.

“Ohio Campus Compact is honored to recognize student leaders from across our great state as Charles J. Ping Student Service Award winners for 2023. These students are future leaders in our communities and exemplify social responsibility and commitment to improvement of campus and community life.” said Stephanie Dodd, Executive Director, Ohio Campus Compact.

The award is named in honor of Charles J. Ping, who served as President of Ohio University from 1975-1994.  An early supporter and Board Member of Ohio Campus Compact, Ping was a tireless advocate for campus-community partnerships and increased opportunities for students to become active and engaged citizens.
