Ohio Campus Compact is excited to announce the newest cohort of AmeriCorps members serving across Ohio at Student Resource Centers for the 2022-2023 academic year here. Currently in it’s fourth year, Ohio Campus Compact (OCC) has been selected by ServeOhio, Ohio’s commission on service and volunteerism, to sponsor AmeriCorps members at higher education member institutions throughout Ohio to develop a Student Resource Center program. April Spotlight: AmeriCorps Member Mid-Year Retreat

The Ohio Campus Compact AmeriCorps members met at the Food Pantry Network of Licking County in Newark, OH, on Friday, March 18, for their mid-year retreat. Members were able to participate in professional development and receive updates and information from Ohio Campus Compact and ServeOhio. The location of the winter retreat supplemented the LeaderCorps project of member Stephen Pierce who serves at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC). Stephen organized a food drive to coincide with AmeriCorps Week to celebrate the contributions of AmeriCorps members. A New Leader for Ohio Campus Compact

– The Board of Directors of Ohio Campus Compact has selected Stephanie L. Dodd as its Executive Director. This is the first change in leadership since 1997 for the thirty-year-old nonprofit organization, which advances the public purpose of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and educate students for civic and social responsibility. Current Executive Director Richard Kinsley announced his impending retirement in the summer of 2020. Campus Compact is pleased to announce the 268 students who will make up the 2018 cohort of Newman Civic Fellows. The Newman Civic Fellowship is a one-year fellowship for community-committed college students from Campus Compact member institutions. The fellowship honors the late Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact’s founders and a tireless advocate for civic engagement in higher education.
